5 Star All Inclusive Hotel in Crete

Creta Maris is an amazing all inclusive hotel in Hersonissos and the largest resort I have stayed at so expect some walking! The hotel is situated a 25 minute drive from Heraklion airport and only a 5 minute walk from Hersonissos. We booked through Jet2 with a free child place.

Creta Maris Rooms

We upgraded to a pool view room which actually gave us access to the heated swimming pool just outside our room, which was very convenient. The room itself was spacious with a large king size bed and sofa bed for our 2 year old. It felt a little tired in places and not quite 5 star but the rest of the hotel made up for it.

Restaurants

Creta Maris has five a la carte restaurants (one adult only) which are available to book via an app or at reception, and two buffet restaurants. Three of the restaurants are situated overlooking the beach and sea which makes for a beautiful setting!

The a la carte cuisine ranges from Cretan and Mediterranean to Seafood with choices of starter, main and dessert available. Our favourite dishes were the Moussaka and Pork Belly. The desserts were also a real stand out including their Chocolate Brownie, Ice Cream Cookie and Kunefe.

The buffet restaurants always had plenty of choice and focused on particular cuisines in the evening including Italian, Mexican and Asian.

Bars and Snacks

A highlight of the hotel was the Aperol Spritz Bar at one of the main pools which was open from early morning! There are other bars all around the resort offering alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. The quality of the cocktails was top notch with the Cosmopolitan, Negroni and Margarita being our favourites.

Another highlight at Creta Maris was the gyros snack bar offering chicken and pork gyros with all the trimmings, the ice cream parlour and the waffle and crepe bar!

Swimming Pools and other facilities

There are a whopping 15 swimming pools including 3 heated ones, an indoor pool and a water park! The best thing about the water park is that there was a splash park and small water slides for children and larger ones for adults. There are bars within easy walking distance of all the pools.

If you fancy the beach, there is a private one as part of the resort with plenty of sun loungers, as well as plenty of beaches within walking distance.

From June there is an outdoor cinema, an entertainment centre and musicians in the main bar.

Overall

Creta Maris is a stunning. family friendly all inclusive hotel in Hersonissos located right by the beach. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the quality of food and cocktails is excellent and we loved the snack bars in the hotel. There are plenty of swimming pools and some of the architecture is like a traditional Cretan village. Would highly recommend a visit.
