Best Restaurants in Shoreditch
Shoreditch Restaurants
There is certainly no shortage of places to eat and drink in East London so I have rounded up the best restaurants in Shoreditch in this blog post.
Smokestak
You can get some of the best wood smoked meat in London at Smokestak. Get a few dishes to share including the beef brisket, native breed pulled pork and merguez flatbread. The sticky toffee pudding is a MUST order too.

Dishoom
It’s all about those breakfast bacon, sausage and egg naan rolls with chilli tomato jam, cream cheese and fresh herbs. I had my first one around 5 years ago and have never looked back – they are so incredibly tasty!
Dinner wise, the mouthwatering Bombay cuisine continues at Dishoom– our favourites are the Keema Pau, House Chaat, Chicken Ruby and House Black Daal.

Flat Iron
Flat Iron offers delicious, affordable steak in London. Their main feature is the Flat Iron Steak (served with a cleaver) priced at just £12 which can be paired with beef dripping chips, creamed spinach, crispy bone marrow and other sides. Make sure you pair the food with one of their homemade negronis.

Padella
Padella offers fantastic pasta in Shoreditch at affordable prices. The menu is designed for sharing – there is a small selection of antipasti including Padella sourdough and burrata with olive oil and around 8 pasta dishes. My recommendations are the Gnocchi with nutmeg butter and Pici Cacio & Pepe.

Blacklock
One of the best restaurants in Shoreditch if you love meat is Blacklock. The menu is kept simple with a small selection of pre chop bits and then on to the main deal. Choose from skinny chops, big chops or off the bone meat. To make it simpler for newbies, they offer an “All In” which has a bit of everything!

Gunpowder
Gunpowder has to be one of the best restaurants in Shoreditch with its varied dishes focused on Indian cuisine. The menu consists of smaller and larger sharing plates and has a good mix of meat, fish and vegetarian. The Spicy venison and vermicelli doughnut and the Gunpowder aloo chaat are must orders.

Hawksmoor
Hawksmoor is my favourite steakhouse in London which oozes quality without being pretentious. We have visited a number of times and the food and service has always been faultless. Choosing one of their prime cuts of beef is a no brainer but you must also order their indulgent mac & cheese – it’s (again) one of the best in London. Also save room for their sticky toffee pudding!

Apothecary
Apothecary is a fantastic izakaya in Shoreditch serving an awesome selection of Japanese inspired small plates and drinks in a bright, airy and relaxed environment. Must orders are the Teriyaki Chicken Thigh Yakitori, Grilled cauliflower with black sesame and the Blackened Salmon.

The Breakfast Club
If you are looking for a top notch breakfast / brunch, The Breakfast Club is for you! It’s always so consistently good with large portions at reasonable prices. The All American with Pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, fried potatoes & maple syrup is the best!

Burger and Beyond
If you want one of the best burgers in London, then Burger and Beyond is a must visit restaurant in Shoreditch. Their Double Bacon Butter Burger served with their Signature 60 Day Aged Beef Patty, Double American Cheese, Crispy Pancetta Bacon, Burnt Butter Mayo, Onion is an absolute winner. Their burgers are made with rare breed beef that is dry aged for between 45 and 90 days. Make sure you get some of their tater tots as a side too!

Gloria
Part of the Big Mamma Group, Gloria was their first restaurant in London. It is designed as a 70’s Capri-style all-day Trattoria which is run by 85 young and passionate Italians and has a great atmosphere!
The menu changes monthly depending on seasonal produce so keep an eye on the website. It features old Italian classics with many products imported from 180 small producers in Italy. Our favourite dishes were the starters – San Daniele Ham 19 months and the Pappa Pomodoro Burrata: a huge 250g burrata di Puglia, filled with homemade pesto and served with pappa al pomodoro.

Camino
This Spanish tapas restaurant in Shoreditch always delivers with great food and service. The menu is helpfully divided into meat, fish and vegetarian with plenty of options in each. The Jamon Iberico Cebo, Croquetas de Jamon and the Gambas Ajillio were our favourites.

The following restaurants in Shoreditch have also been consistently recommended to me and are on my list to visit:
- Smoking Goat
- Brat
- The Clove Club
