Penelope’s won best luxury restaurant in the UK in August 2024 in the British Restaurant Awards. A fantastic achievement which is well deserved given the quality of their food and service.

Situated in the Amano Hotel in the heart of Covent Garden, Penelope’s (named after the owner’s daughter) is an Israeli / Spanish restaurant serving delicious tapas, small plates and large plates.

The dishes were outstanding – beautifully presented and packed with flavour. Our favourites were

• Roasted Israeli Aubergine with pomegranate, pico de gallo, date glaze and tahini
• Gambas – Spanish prawns with lemon and garlic
• Coca Bread with Salsa Berde Lebneh – BEST BREAD EVER!!!
• Chicken Shawarma
• Baklava Cheesecake

The service was amazing from Raj – attentive but not pushy, knowledgeable and very friendly.

Accompanying the food is a selection of wine (obviously including Spanish wine) and cocktails. You can also get a pre or post dinner tipple from the rooftop bar of the Amano Hotel.

They have a pre theatre menu Tuesday – Saturday between 5-6pm where you can get 3 courses for only ￡32. There are also DJs playing on Friday and Saturday evenings. Penelope’s is truly a luxury restaurant in Covent Garden.
