Seashells Hotel in Phu Quoc

Seashells 4 Star Hotel in Phu Quoc was an amazing experience over the Christmas period.

The Location

The hotel’s beachfront location at the end of the Long Beach stretch is perfect. It gives you direct access to the glistening waters of Phu Quoc Island!

The airport is situated 15-20 minutes away by taxi – we used Vinasun, who were very reliable (around £7). Depending on what you want to do on the island, some parts in the north, south and east can take a while to get to. The cable car ride, for example, is 40 minutes by taxi and starfish beach is 45 minutes. However, this would be the case for most hotels.

We found Long Beach to be an ideal location for our day trips and had plenty of restaurants and bars within a 15 minute walk. Plus, we were right by Phu Quoc night market!

Our Room

We had a spacious (33m2) room with a King Bed and huge bathroom including a bathtub and a balcony overlooking the city. The hotel was booked through Booking.com’s ‘basic’ package, which made it cheaper (and is actually booked through their third party, Agoda). We paid £95 per room per night which was great value for such a nice hotel. This did not include breakfast so we generally ate at cafes nearby.

Even with booking basic, we were entitled to a round trip airport transfer but were not told before we arrived. It is a shuttle bus schedule so it has to fit into your flight times.

The Pool Area and Cocktails

We absolutely loved the pool area with a large infinity pool overlooking the beach. However, there are not enough sunbeds for the amount of people in the hotel and they are ‘saved’ from 7.30am! We did visit over Christmas which obviously is a busier time. We loved the sunbeds that were in the water – so perfect for when it is hot!

There is a swim up pool bar to order drinks and snacks around the pool or just ask a member of staff who is walking around. You can enjoy 50% off drinks between 5-6pm.

Make sure you watch sunset by the pool area – just look how beautiful it is!

Dining Options

The daily breakfast buffet is served between 6.30-10.30am. We treated ourselves on Christmas Day (£15) and there was plenty to choose from, including a doughnut wall!

Lunch is served al carte or from the snack menu between 12-10.30pm and Anchor bistro on the second floor offers dinner.

Activities

There are many activities offered at the Seashells hotel in Phu Quoc, many of which are family friendly. There is also a complimentary gym just outside the hotel which is air conditioned with bottled water. Lastly, you can kayak for free!

Overall

The Seashells Hotel in Phu Quoc is a fantastic option with gorgeous rooms and infinity pool. The only negative part is the fact they keep your deposit (£60) for up to 60 days! I have never experienced anything like it and despite emailing them a few times, they still don’t have the correct confirmation from the bank. A real shame for such an amazing hotel which must change.
