Hotel in Singapore
When researching, I found it difficult to find an decent but affordable hotel in Singapore in a central location. The high end hotels, such as Raffles and Marina Bay Sands, are around £500-700 during the week and more at the weekends. On the other extreme, there are tons of hostels starting from around £10-20.
We ended up opting for The Yotel Hotel in Singapore, situated on Orchard Road, Singapore’s shopping district right by Orchard Central Metro. A taxi from the airport was around £15 and you can use GRAB to make it even cheaper.
Yotel is a multi storey building with a small rooftop pool and gym. The hotel has been cleverly designed to offer modern cabin size rooms with all of the amenities required. Our double room was compact but certainly liveable given its well thought through design.
The height and length of the bed can be adapted using a switch making more room and the amenities are in pull out draws and cubby holes. The bathroom overlooks the city so make sure you pop your blind down before you use the toilet or shower!
Overall
Even though the room was small, the bed was comfortable and we had an enjoyable stay. For £80 a night (excluding breakfast) it was a reasonable price for the location. We had breakfast every day at the Food Republic mall which was less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel.
